A DocuSign alternative for NDA work makes sense when most of what you send is NDAs. NonDisclosures generates the NDA from a clause library, collects e-signatures, files it in a register with expiry reminders and reviews counterparty NDAs with AI, at a flat team price.
NonDisclosures is a software tool, not a law firm. Templates and AI analysis are not legal advice.
In short
DocuSign is a leading general e-signature platform that signs almost any document you upload. NonDisclosures does one thing, the full NDA lifecycle: it writes the agreement, gets it signed, tracks its status and expiry, and flags risky clauses in NDAs the other side sends. If you sign many kinds of contracts, DocuSign is often the better fit.
Why teams look for a DocuSign alternative for NDAs
DocuSign is built to sign anything: sales contracts, offer letters, vendor agreements, procurement forms. That breadth is its strength. For NDAs, though, signing is only one step. Someone still has to pick the right template, set the term and governing law, check the other side's paper when they insist on it, and remember when each agreement expires.
NonDisclosures puts those steps in one place. You choose a type such as a mutual NDA or a one-way agreement, set the clause options, send it for signature and watch it move from sent to viewed to signed. Once signed, the PDF with its certificate page lands in the register with an expiry date, and reminders go out before it lapses. When a prospect sends their own NDA, an AI NDA review gives you a risk score and a list of clauses to push back on.
When DocuSign is the better fit
A focused tool is not the right answer for every company. DocuSign usually makes more sense in these situations.
- You sign many kinds of contracts. If NDAs are a small slice of what you send, one platform for every document is simpler than adding a second tool.
- You need advanced eSignature compliance features. Some regulated industries require signature types, identity checks or standards that a general e-signature leader covers more broadly.
- Your company has already standardized on it. If legal, procurement and sales all run on DocuSign with established workflows, switching NDAs may not be worth the change.
- You need full contract lifecycle management. DocuSign CLM and similar platforms handle negotiation and obligations across all contract types, at a much higher price and implementation effort.
Many teams use both. Keep DocuSign for sales contracts and other agreements, and run NDAs through NonDisclosures so the register and expiry reminders cover every confidentiality agreement.
A worked cost example for 10 senders
DocuSign eSignature is priced per user or sender, so the cost grows with the number of people who send. We do not quote their prices here because they change and depend on the plan, but the arithmetic is easy to run with the number from their pricing page.
Take a team where 10 people send NDAs: sales reps, two recruiters and someone in legal. On a per-seat plan you multiply the per-user price by 10 and then by 12 for a year. On NonDisclosures the Business plan covers up to 10 members for one flat price, 149 USD a month or 74 USD a month billed yearly (888 USD a year), with 150 NDAs sent per month and 60 AI analyses included.
| Item | Per-seat e-signature | NonDisclosures Business |
|---|---|---|
| Price basis | Per user or sender | Flat team price |
| Cost for 10 senders, monthly | 10 x the per-seat price | 149 USD |
| Cost for 10 senders, yearly | 120 x the monthly per-seat price | 888 USD billed yearly |
| Adding an 11th sender | One more seat | Company plan with unlimited members |
| Full CLM for comparison | DocuSign CLM roughly 20,000 to 60,000 USD a year | Company plan 2,988 USD a year |
Run the numbers with your own seat count and the current figures on their site. The point is the model, flat versus per seat, not a claim that one is cheaper for every team.
What you get that general e-signature leaves to you
- NDA drafting. Six NDA types, a term of 1, 2, 3 or 5 years, a separate survival period, any US state law with Delaware by default, and optional non-solicit, residuals, standstill and no-contact clauses. The agreement renders instantly.
- A register built for NDAs. Search by counterparty, owner, type, status and expiry, answer "Do we have an NDA with X?" in seconds, and export to CSV. See the NDA repository for details.
- Expiry reminders. The end date comes from the term clause, with reminders 60, 30 and 7 days before expiry.
- Stage triggers. On Business and up, a HubSpot or Salesforce deal stage, or a Greenhouse, Lever or Workable hiring stage, sends the right NDA automatically.
- Guardrails. Team templates with locked clauses and an approval rule when someone changes a protected clause.
How to switch your NDAs over
Signers keep the same experience they know from e-signature tools: a personal link by email, signing in the browser, no account. Read how signing an NDA online works for the counterparty.
- Export your signed NDAs from DocuSign as PDFs. You keep your account for other contracts.
- Upload the PDFs or DOCX files into the NonDisclosures register.
- On paid plans, AI extracts the parties, term, governing law, expiry and key terms, so each agreement becomes searchable and gets expiry reminders.
- Set up your team templates with the clause options you want locked, and invite your team.
- Send the next NDA from the generator, or connect your CRM or ATS so the right stage sends it for you.

Questions and answers
Is NonDisclosures a full replacement for DocuSign?
Only for NDAs. NonDisclosures drafts, signs, tracks and reviews NDAs and nothing else. If you sign sales contracts, offer letters or vendor agreements, keep DocuSign or another general tool for those.
Are NDAs signed in NonDisclosures legally binding?
In the United States, the ESIGN Act and state laws based on UETA generally give electronic signatures the same effect as handwritten ones for agreements like NDAs. Each signed PDF carries a certificate page with timestamps, IP addresses, user agent and a document hash.
How much does DocuSign cost compared to NonDisclosures?
DocuSign eSignature is priced per user or sender, so check their pricing page for current numbers. NonDisclosures uses a flat team price of 49, 149 or 499 USD a month, or half that per month when billed yearly.
Can I import NDAs I already signed in DocuSign?
Yes. Export them as PDFs and upload them to the register. On paid plans, AI extracts the parties, term, governing law and expiry so reminders work for old agreements too.
Does the other party need an account to sign?
No. The signer gets a personal link by email, valid for 30 days, and signs in the browser with a typed or drawn signature.
Can I try it before paying?
You can generate a preview of an NDA on the home page without an account. Sending, signing and the register are part of the paid plans.
Is the NDA template or AI review legal advice?
No. NonDisclosures is a software tool, not a law firm. Templates and AI analysis are general information, and laws differ by state, so have a licensed attorney review agreements that matter.
