Slack NDA notifications from NonDisclosures post a short message to the channel you choose whenever an NDA is sent, viewed, signed, declined or close to expiry. Each team can use its own channel, and messages carry only the agreement title and status, never the NDA text.

In short

On the Business or Company plan, connect your Slack workspace, choose which events to post, route each team or template to a channel, and send a test message. Sales sees its deal NDAs in a sales channel, HR sees candidate and employee agreements in its own, and legal can follow declines and expiries without opening every document.

01

Why NDA status belongs in Slack

An NDA is rarely the goal. It is the gate before a demo, a data room, a take-home task or a first day at work. The person waiting on it wants to know the moment it clears, and they are usually already in Slack. A notification in the team channel replaces the "has it been signed yet?" messages and the habit of checking a dashboard every hour.

Notifications also make problems visible. A declined NDA or an agreement that sat unopened for days shows up where the team can act, instead of in one person's inbox.

Slack does not replace the record. Status, the per-signer timeline, the audit trail and the expiry date all live in NonDisclosures, and the Slack message is a pointer to them. If a notification is missed or a channel is archived, nothing is lost, because the register remains the single source of truth for every agreement your company has sent or signed.

02

Which events post and what they say

EventWhen it postsTypical channel
SentThe NDA goes out for signatureTeam channel of the sender
ViewedA signer opens the signing linkTeam channel, useful for deal follow-up
SignedAll parties have signedTeam channel, and legal if you want a record
DeclinedA signer declines to signTeam channel and legal
ExpiringReminders 60, 30 and 7 days before the end dateThe owner's team, or a contracts channel

Each message names the agreement, its status and a link back to NonDisclosures. People with access open the full record there.

03

A channel per team

Routing follows how your company actually works. NDAs sent from sales deals, including those triggered by the HubSpot NDA integration, post to a sales channel. Candidate and employee agreements post to a private HR channel. M&A and investor NDAs can go to a restricted channel that only the deal team can see.

  • Sales. Signed and viewed events help reps time the next call. See NDA for sales.
  • HR and recruiting. Signed events tell the recruiter the take-home task or onboarding can start.
  • Legal or operations. Declined and expiring events surface agreements that need attention.
  • Deal teams. A private channel for sensitive counterparties keeps names out of company-wide channels.
04

What stays out of Slack

Slack is a chat tool, not a contract repository, and an NDA often contains the very information it protects: the purpose of the talks, the counterparty and sometimes deal context in additional terms. NonDisclosures therefore never posts the NDA text, clause content, the signed PDF or the audit trail to Slack. A message contains the agreement title and status plus a link. The document itself stays in NonDisclosures, encrypted at rest and in transit, and visible only to people with the right role.

If even counterparty names are sensitive for some agreements, route those templates to a private channel. Keeping the signed agreements organized and searchable is the job of contract tracking software, not of a chat history.

05

Setting up Slack NDA notifications

  1. Connect. An admin of your NonDisclosures workspace authorizes the connection to your Slack workspace.
  2. Choose events. Select which of sent, viewed, signed, declined and expiring should post.
  3. Choose channels. Route each team or template to a channel, and use private channels for sensitive work.
  4. Test. Send a test notification and confirm it lands where you expect, then switch routing on.

About this connection

NonDisclosures posts to Slack through Slack's standard APIs. It is not a Slack product and does not claim any partnership, directory listing or certification from Slack. On the Company plan, the same events are also available as webhooks for teams that want to build their own notifications elsewhere.

Questions and answers

Which NDA events can post to Slack?

Sent, viewed, signed, declined and expiring. Expiry reminders follow the same schedule as email reminders, 60, 30 and 7 days before the end date.

Can different teams get notifications in different channels?

Yes. Route each team or template to its own channel, for example sales deals to a sales channel and employee NDAs to a private HR channel.

Is the NDA text posted in Slack?

No. Messages include only the agreement title, its status and a link back to NonDisclosures. The text and the signed PDF stay in NonDisclosures.

Do I need Slack notifications if I already get emails?

Not necessarily. Slack helps when several people wait on the same NDA, such as a deal team or a hiring panel, and you want one shared place to see it clear.

Can I turn off viewed notifications to reduce noise?

Yes. You choose which events post. Many teams keep signed, declined and expiring, and drop viewed for busy channels.

Which plan includes Slack notifications?

Business and Company. Company also offers webhooks for the same events. See pricing.

Is NonDisclosures an official Slack partner?

No. It uses Slack's standard APIs and does not claim a partnership, directory listing or certification from Slack.
